Description

A Superb Scarce SBP in silver and silver plate Two Scrolls Calcutta and Scottish thistle and flower sprays to eac side. Kings Crown over St Andrews Cross to the centre the arms of the city of Calcutta. Formed in 1914 by Scots in Calcutta They were attached to the Auxiliary Force (India) Their Tartan was Hunting Stewart and they wore a scarlet dress tunic with white facings and a green and white diced band on their Glengarry. They did not fight as a unit and tended to be distributed amongst other units of the Indian Army. They were disbanded on Indian Independence in 1947 Lovely condition. Badges and Plaid Brooches turn up fairly frequently but this is the first SBP I have seen,
