WW2 Japanese Navy Officer's Summer Cap

This is a mid to late war Japanese navy officer's summer shipboard cap. It is made from lightweight cotton on the exterior plus a white cotton interior. We see at least three different kinds of cotton being used to manufacture this cap; plus a high-quality embroidered officer's anchor on the front. Officer's caps are denoted by two black stripes on the exterior of the white cap or the green field cap. Petty officers had a single stripe. Sailors had no Stripe. Because naval officers were required to purchase their own uniforms, there are no military depot block stampings on the inside. These were made by uniform manufacturing companies.
