Chinese Korean War Leather Submachinegun Magazine Pouch

Sold
$650.00

Description

Here is a classic Chinese late 1940s early 1950s magazine pouch for five stick magazines. This is the mother of all chestrigs! All straps are present which is a good thing. This is an early one. Later versions were made with canvas and leather. Eventually, only canvas was used. The Chinese had thousands of Thompsons which were lend lease to Chinese forces fighting Japan in WW2. As such, many were carried into Korea. Without a supply of magazines and a way to tactically carry them, you had only 30 chances to survive the battle which is exactly how many bullets fit in a 30 round Thompson magazine. Because of the firepower of a sub machine gun, they were issued to front line assault soldiers and officers only.
