Royal Cheshire Militia Officers Silver Plated Large Pattern Button

Sold
£20.00

Description

Circa 25mm in diameter, fixed shank, maker marked Jennens & Co, London. In super condition. This is unusual as it is neither identified as the 1st Cheshire or 2nd Cheshire Regiment, who wore this pattern but with the battalion numbers. Worn 1853 - 1881, when the regiments of militia of the county became the 3rd and 4th Battalions of the Cheshire Regiment respectively. Ripley no's 451 and 452 refer but this one is not battalion specific. Comm VSR
