Original period manufacture. 1866 pattern Chassepot bayonet made at St. Etienne in 1871. Bright blade with some light corrosion issues at the point, with a few scattered nicks in the cutting edge. Bright steel patina finish guard, with a brass grip showing a polished finish. Polished steel scabbard which is dent-free. Matching numbers. L 11023
