M31 German helmet liner size 64/57 by Werner Zahn 1943

Worn M31 pattern German helmet liner. Steel band, maker marked by Metall-Lederverarbeitung W.Z. (Werner Zahn) in Bln.-Chburg 5 (Berlin), dated 1943. The leather itself is supple and strong. This liner is intended for a 64 sized steel helmet with a head size 57. Draw string is a replacement.
