Pre WW1 King Edwards Horse Cap Badge.

Sold

Description

The badge for the King Edwards Horse, worn by the Kings Colonials. A very interesting white metal badge, the regiment was also known as the Kings Overseas Dominions Regiment, in fact the badge carries the names of the countries in swags amongst oak leaves; Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and India. This badge was worn up to the outbreak of the First World War, then the regiment was broken up into squadrons, each dominium taking its own badge. This one comes in good used condition, it has some light wear to the high points and it has a nice even tone. The badge has been slightly bent to fit a cap comfortably. A very good example. Ref. G1
