Royal Dutch Airforce Officer's Dagger

Royal Dutch Airforce Model 1964 Officer's Dagger (KLu officiers ponjaard 1964). The double edged blade is in very good condition, the ricasso is nicely maker marked with a sitting squirrel logo and the company's name of 'Carl Eickhorn' from Solingen. The dagger is having a beautiful black diagonally angled ribbed grip with double twisted brass wire winding. The gilt pommel has the form of the Dutch Royal Crown. The gilded crossguard is showing the form of a flying gull. The dagger is complete with its original black leather scabbard with gilt fittings. The scabbard is having a release button on the reverse side of the crossguard. These daggers were made in a very limited number in the early sixties. Most of these daggers lost their original gilding. Hard to find example in very good condition!
