Description
An attractive badge, cast and silver plated with two original loops to the reverse. It depicts the head of an urial ram, a wild sheep of Western Asia with the scroll below bearing the unit title, surmounted by a King's crown. Circa 4.2cms tall. (interestingly, the badge looks like a frog when viewed from the rear!). The South Waziristan Scouts, formerly the South Waziristan Militia, was a paramilitary unit which formed part of British India's Frontier Corps. Other units included the Chitral Scouts, the Gilgit Scouts and the Kurram and Zhob Militias. NAM.2013-1020-56-29 Comm TeMo
