Indian Army WW2 Raised Unit - The Assam Regiment Cast Brass Cap Badge

A nicely cast brass cap badge which has been gilded with two original small loops to the reverse, mounted on green felt cloth for display. Slightly smaller the pagri badge listed below. Circa 3.7cms wide. Some service wear but in good condition. The collar badge has the rhinoceros without the scroll. Formed in 1941 from a cadre from the Assam Rifles, the regiment contained a large number of Gurkhas. NAM.2013-10-20-55 - 8 refers. Comm TeMo
