Derbyshire Yeomanry (WW2 Armoured Car Recce Regiment) Old Comrade Association (OCA) Lapel Buttonhole Badge

Sold
£35.00

Description

A scarce and superb Derbyshire Yeomanry gilt brass and enamel OCA lapel badge with original horseshoe fitting, maker marked W&H (Walker and Hall?) to the reverse. Most likely worn by a veteran of WW1 or WW2 where the Regiment provided two Reconnaissance Battalions. Touch of verdigris to reverse otherwise in very good condition with no damage to enamel. See my item 64725, the book 'Mad Recce' (now sold). The Derbyshire Yeomanry was a yeomanry regiment of the British Army, first raised in 1794, which served as a cavalry regiment and dismounted infantry regiment in the First World War and provided two Reconnaissance Regiments in the Second World War, before being amalgamated with the Leicestershire Yeomanry to form the Leicestershire and Derbyshire (Prince Albert's Own) Yeomanry in 1957.
