Canada - Canadian Guards Officer's Gilt, Enamel and Silver Plate Cap Badge, QEII issue

Of three part construction with red enamel centre (some slight firing marks on this) and two original loops to the reverse. In gilt a maple leaf branch of three leaves in a voided centre, with a surrounding circlet bearing the Latin phrase: A Mari Usque Mare (From Sea to Sea), the Canadian national motto, this is mounted on silver plated star with a Queen Elizabeth II crown above. In good condition, retaining wire looks like a later addition but does the job. Comm DaSm
