UK made die cast bronzed brass cap badge with blue enamel scroll below with original pin fittings for year on the tropical helmet pagri. Issue number '178' and Maker's name stamped to reverse Toye & Co Ld. / London. Worn until 1956 but given the low issue number this could be an earlier issue dating to the 1930s. In good worn condition, some damage to enamel on the left scroll end, and also some surface scratches but rare to find a Uk made example with the enamel scroll.Renfrew et al Vol 1 No 1316 refers (but without the enamel scroll).Comm DaMc (506)
