6th Inniskillings Dragoons NCO's White Metal Arm Badge On Primrose Yellow Backing Cloth

Sold
£75.00

Description

The second pattern all white metal die struck arm badge as noted in Pate 17.6 (B) of Linaker and Dine, and worn circa 1914 - 1928, after which time the horse of the 5th Dragoon Guards was adopted as the NCO's arm badge. Circa 42mm tall and 44mm wide, lugs east - west (circa 25mm to each inner part of loop). This appears to have been plated as there is some wear to the finish on the left turret and left tip of scroll and the copper is showing through. Not to be confused with the bi-metal cap badge of similar proportions. Rare. Linaker & Dine Plate 17.6(B) refers. C23.1
