A stunning example of a fire gilt General Officer's Horse Furniture bit boss badge, with a VR Cypher to centre and often used in Victorian times, a 'Guelphic' crown to the top. What a bobby dazzler this chap must have been. Crossed Sword and Baton below. Circa 7.5cm tall. In superb condition.Standardisation of crowns was introduced by King Edward VII, when he laid down in 1901 that the so-called 'Tudor' or 'imperial' pattern crown was the only one to be used.D73.4
