German Imperial Era, M1871 Service Quality Bayonet, Private Purchase

Original era manufacture. An issue quality M1871 bayonet with a 18.5 inch steel blade. The blade is clean with no major issues, sharp point, showing a few spots of corrosion staining, steel s-shaped guard, with a cast brass grip and a operable locking bar. Black leather bodied scabbard with brass throat and chape. There are no markings of any kind on the bayonet or scabbard, not even a makers name. When the blade is inserted, there is a 1/4 inch gap between the top of the scabbard throat and the bottom of the guard.
