Sold
$1050.00

Description

Original era manufacture. Early quality dagger with nickel fittings, browned scabbard and a typically dented scabbard tip ball. Very clear, C. Eppenstein & Sohne maker mark on the ricasso. The blade is clean and bright, no corrosion problems, with a good deal of the original cross grain polish visible. Nickel upper and lower guards, with an alloy eagle and enameled SA disc above. Very dark brown wood grip, with no chips or cracks, showing some finish scuffing just above the guard and around the bottom of the eagle. Group marked WM (Westmark) on the reverse of the lower guard. The original hanger was on the dagger at the time of our purchase. Pliable leather with matching nickel fittings. The leather has a sizable cut in the strap on the reverse side. The scabbard exhibits a mix of steel patina and original brown finish to the surface, few very minor dents, all of the fitting screws are present.
