Description

An early gilt metal cap badge with two lugs to the reverse. Circa 4.3cm tall. Use of silver solder possibly suggesting this has been relogged at some time otherwise in very good condition. It was redesignated as the 44th Lincoln and Welland Battalion of Infantry on 1 October 1897; as the 44th Lincoln and Welland Regiment on 8 May 1900; and following the Great War as The Lincoln and Welland Regiment on 1 May 1920.
