Description
Original period manufacture. All matching numbers, including the wedge, 275545, or 5545, which according to Colt records indicates a manufacture year of 1865. New York address on the top of the barrel with lots of blue remaining on the barrel surfaces and traces of case hardening on the frame. Original finish on the grips, screw slots are in good shape. The cylinder retains most of the Stage Coach scene, with a mix of blue and steel patina. Mechanically the pistol works as it should, it indexes properly and locks up nice and tight. No real flaws to mention, there is some surface blemishing around the wedge opening on the right side, the typical results of attempts to remove the wedge for cleaning. Nice honest old pistol. US SALES ONLY.
