As well as the 1914 Christmas Gift Box, another Royal gift distributed to the BEF and Naval Forces on Christmas Day was a sepia coloured postcard. It carried a printed&8209;photograph (by W & D Downey ) of the King and Queen. On the back of it was this message, 'With our best wishes for Christmas 1914. May God protect you and bring you home safe'. In very good condition. No central fold as often found from storage in the gift box. Scarce.Coll
