Description

A SWB officially impressed B70836 awarded to Private Ernest Morris, Labour Corps and Ex London Regiment. An unmarked silver circlet inscribed 'For King And Empire Services Rendered' bearing crowned 'GRI' Imperial Cypher to voided centre. In very good condition, dark toned, original C clasp and pin (slight twist upwards towards tip). Circa 32mm in diameter.259642 Private Ernest Morris, Labour Corps was ex London Regiment. Did not serve overseas. He enlisted on 14th November 1916 and was discharged on 18th September 1917 due to sickness, aged 25. Copy of CD version of SWB roll entry to be supplied but unable to locate a copy of his WW1 Medal Index Card (MIC). However there is a note on the SWB Roll to the effect that his old regimental number was 6864.Approximately 1,150,000 badges were issued to all services, which had to be claimed and then approved.Comm JoPa
