Early-WWII Westinghouse M1 Helmet Liner With Rayon Suspension

Sold
$225.00

Description

This is an original early-WWII Westinghouse manufactured M1 helmet liner. It features non-painted steel rectangular washers, a first pattern rayon suspension, and remnants of a stationary leather liner strap, dating the liner's production to mid-1942. The rayon suspension is strong and intact. The liner comes complete with its original rayon headband and a recently installed size 4 rayon neckband, which was actually cut from a damaged headband and is therefore technically not original, but nearly indistinguishable from such. If the new owner wishes to swap it out, original rayon neckbands are available in the Helmet Accessories Section. The liner's exterior retains an original white repaint.
