WWII Fixed Loop McCord M1 Helmet Shell (June 1942)

Sold
$150.00 —

Description

This is an original early-WWII U.S. McCord manufactured fixed loop M1 helmet shell. The heat stamp of 197C dates the helmet's production to June 1942. It retains its original factory paint, cork texture, and one of its chinstraps. The chinstrap exhibits the early cast brass buckle, carried over from the M1917A1 helmet. There are a couple stress cracks throughout, however the helmet's fixed loops are strong and intact. Whether the new owner decides to match the helmet with a well-used early-war liner or restores it with the proper chinstrap, it will make an excellent display piece.
