Mid-WWII Fixed Loop M1 Helmet & Westinghouse Liner (1943 Set)

Sold
$450.00

Description

This is an original mid-WWII M1 helmet set. If in need of an American helmet, representative of any branch of service from about D-Day on 'til the war's end, this is an excellent choice. The McCord manufactured front seam fixed loop helmet shell has a heat stamp of 652C, dating its production to September 1943. The helmet retains an original field repaint, cork texture, and steel flat-buckled khaki chinstraps. The chinstraps exhibit a very unique flaw from the factory; both the buckle and J-hook were installed backwards - never before have I encountered such a flaw. The Westinghouse manufactured liner's original olive drab factory paint finish is in excellent condition. It features green-painted steel A-washers and a khaki suspension, which date the liner's production from mid-1943 to mid-1944. The khaki suspension is strong and intact. It comes complete with its original headband, neckband, and leather liner strap, however the leather components have dried and deteriorated with time.
