North Vietnamese Army Battle Field Pick Up ChiCom Marked AK47 Sling

This is a wonderful Vietnam bring-back Chinese Communist AK47 sling. It is marked “Type 56 assault rifle” in Chinese. The heavy web is khaki tan with a wide adjustment buckle used only on the AK pattern sling. The buckle is galvanized steel. The leather end tab, which connects to the front sling swivel, is used as you can see. ChiCom SKS slings have a leather tab at both ends and a smaller buckle. Slings like this can be found in unissued condition, but rarely are found in battlefield pick up condition such as this. The wear is consistent with a sling that carried an AK down the Ho Chi Minh Trail.
