Description
This is the standard World War II Japanese army and navy leather belt for enlisted men and sailors. As you can see, the buckle is made of brass with a single prong. There are 11 adjustment holes. This many holes were needed because only one belt would be issued, whether he was in the hot tropics or the cold winter of China, where an overcoat and possibly an arctic coat would be necessary. The leather is soft, supple and flexible. This belt would hold two front ammunition pouches, one rear ammunition pouch and a Type 30 bayonet suspended in a frog.
