Description
Here is a very last ditch Toyoda Jidou Shokki (Tovoda Automatic Loomworks) type 30 bayonet. As you can see, this bayonet does not have a cast birds head pommel, making it one of the very last of the last ditch bayonets. In addition, the blade is made from a casting. Although he treated for hardness, the blade is inferior to a machine steel blade. The blade has what appears to be pitting, but knowing something about industrial manufacturing, we conclude this is not hitting it is just a poor, casting. Moreover, the wooden handles are attached by very crude, copper/brass rivets. Dispanet came to us without a scabbard, however original, as well as reproduction scabbards are to be found. The spring, and the bandit pushbutton attachment device does not function well.
