Viet Cong Main Force Hand Painted Recruitment Poster 'We Had No Choice But To Take Up Arms'

This is the first of the kind for us. Having collected Vietnam war militaria since the mid-1970s, we have never seen another Viet Cong recruitment poster. Our first impression was that this is an NVA soldier based on the green uniform, the web gear and the AK-47. However, after spending a little time with he is a 35 to 45 year old man, has thick long hair vs a military crew cut and is not wearing an NVA sun helmet or boonie hat. We conclude he is a VC Main Force soldier. Moreover, this poster appears to be entirely hand-painted vs a mass produced printed poster with a stock number of the type we have seem on NVA Propaganda posters. It measures approximately 30 x 21” and is printed painted on thick paper.
