WW2 Japanese Army NCO Mapcase

This is a Japanese World War II noncommissioned officers leather mapcase with hanger. Japanese noncommissioned officers were issued small binoculars, small leather map cases, a leather belt with an intregal sword hanger. From the hanger, a steel scabbard/steel handled NCO sword was suspended. NCOs were also issued either a revolver or pistol. This field equipment mimicked that of a Japanese army officers, although in much smaller scale than a standard army officers equipment. This leather map case is in fine condition; supple with all the stitching intact.
