WW2 Japanese Army & Navy Enlisted Leather Belt for Ammo Pouches & Bayonet Frog

Available
$236.00

Description

This was the standard issue leather belt worn by all enlisted Japanese Army and Naval personnel in WW2. This is a example of a wartime economy leather belt with brass buckle. This belt evolved due to raw material shortages during the war. These went from thick leather with thick brass buckle; to thinner leather and thiner brass buckle (this one); to rubberized canvas; to rubber & finally to various cloth materials. Three ammo pouches and the bayonet/frog were worn on this simple belt. The leather is supple & flexible. The stitching is sound. A nicely used WW2 bring back.
