World War II Japanese chrome plated Type 30 parade bayonet

This is a World War II Japanese Kokura arsenal type 30 bayonet with hook guard. This one is unique in that it was chrome plated, possibly during the war or maybe after? What is known as the chrome plating is very, very old.
