North Vietnamese Army Gas Mask with DDR Camouflage Bag 1963

The DDR supplied small arms, medical items, helmets, gas masks and other war material to Hanoi. This 1963 dated gas mask is an example of what was sent to Hanoi.  Often the NVA would ditch the heavy gas mask and canister and use the bag to carry other items.  The NVA also remarked foreign made gas mask canister with Vietnamese. The bag has some rust on the metal.
