Iraqi Special Republican Guard Triangle Pair Maroon Variant Embroidered

The Republican Guard were among the most elite and well funded forces of the Iraqi Army. They spearheaded all the major offensives with armor and infantry supported by aircraft.  They wore pin on insignia or sewn on patches on their shoulders consisting of a red triangle.   They also had small pin on badges to wear above their pockets to denote special units within the RG. The Special Republican Guard had a white border around their triangle and were the best of the RG. Still stapled together as found in a supply room in Iraq. White borders.
