North Vietnamese Army made Plastic Sandals

Sold
$199.99

Description

Throughout the North, the population wore either HCM Sandals, PRC made sneakers or these inexpensive sandals.  The people in the photo, taken in 1966 Hanoi, are wearing this type of sandals. Also attached is a photo of an NVA soldier surrendering during the Tet Offensive of 1968 wearing these type of sandals. Note the little stars all over the place. These are found all over the wartime NVA made plastic canteens as well but not on the postwar NVA plastic canteens. The buckles are simple aluminum stampings of the same size and type found on sun helmet chinstraps. The Vietnamese word for Army is Quan which is molded into these sandals.
