North Vietnamese Army Viet Cong Early Field Pack with C Ration Stiffener

This is a ChiCom made pack dating to the Korean War. It is basically a copy of the US Model 1910 pack or the US M1936 pack. The top and bottom flaps fold inward then the two side flaps fold over the sides. All the belongings are kept inside. Numerous tie ties not he exterior hold a blanket, rice tube, tool, mug, rice bowl etc. It has typical ChiCom galvanized wire roller buckles. This type of pack is correct for your Viet Minh and early NVA VC display due to its early 1950s production. This one has a C Ration box added to the rear to stiffen the pack. This prevents “pointy things” from poking the wearer's back.
