Description
Very nice WW1 Austrian M16, with reinforced hooks for an extra cavalry chin strap attached. Got reissued in the early 1930's to a apple green double decal army steel helmet, with a single band aluminum liner. Typical for these Austrian apple green helmets is the darker colored split pins. Decals shows lots of ageing and patine due the thick lacquer that was applied on these early shield. Size marked '66' inside in white ink (never seen this before.). Draw string is a replacement but looks nice. Great transitional army steel helmet in apple green color.
