Juni 1936 Backside: Safety pin Background information: Nowadays Dioseg is called Németdiószeg and is part of the Czech Republic. In 1786 Joseph II, Holy Roman Emperor settled German settlers (mainly farmers and craftsmen) and as a result, the two neighboring settlements Deutsch-Diosek and Hungarian-Diosek emerged. These Germans became know as the Karpatendeutscher. During 1938 and WWII the area was controled by Hungary. After WWII all germans were expelled and their place taken by Slovaks. Just after the war Hungary and Czechoslovakia exchanged their population and the amount on Hungarian people living in the city als became less.
