In a very good but used condition a K98 short Parade/ Dress bayonet Marked by the owner Gefreiter Jansen 4. Kompanie Infanterie Regiment 58 1936-1938 Maker marked (half visible) Anton Wingen Jr. from Solingen The bayonet frog has some loose stiching but overal in very good condtion. Blade length 25 cm Total length 37.5 cm Background info: The 58th Infantry Regiment was formed on October 15, 1935 when the Reichswehr transitioned to the Wehrmacht after regaining military sovereignty in military district VI. The regimental staff was set up in Herford, in military district VI. The 1st battalion of which company 4 was a part was also set up in Herford by the training battalion of the 37th Infantry Regiment.
