In an excellent condition an Austria-Hungary bronze 4th class war cross for civil service. Maker marked on the back Z The sign of the order has the form of a paw cross and the horizontal arms of the cross are underlaid with a wreath of oak leaves, while the wreath rests on the vertical ones. In the enamelled medallion the golden letters of the donor F J I (Franz Joseph Imperator) and also in golden letters MERITO CIVILI TEMPORE BELLI · MCMXV ·. The crosses of the 1st and 2nd class are gilded, those of the 3rd class are gilded. Class silver-plated and those of the IV class made of bronze. With the exception of the last class, the arms of the cross are also coated with enamel. The diameter of the (very rarely awarded) 1st class is 64 mm, with the other classes 44 mm.
