In an excellent condition a rare Swiss sword bayonet 1879/81 for NCO's This type of sword bayonet is for the Feldweibel which is freely translated in 'field usher'. According to the Federal Council decision of March 7, 1879, infantry sergeants were equipped with a saber bayonet without a saw. The handles of the bayonet are attached with five rivets. The sawteeth have been filed off. From 1883, sergeant sabers were issued as Ordonnanz 1883 and the saber bayonets were taken back and given to Fouriere and recruits (trumpeters and drummers). The ricasso is maker marked Gebr. Weyersberg from Solingen. And has an acceptance stamp a Swiss cross in an octangle numbered 8. On the otherside of the ricasso it numbered 133 and dated 1879. The blade is sharpend in the past and have a few small dents. The blade has a false edge. On one side of the blade it has a fuller. The hard black leather scabbard is in very good condition and has been repainted in the past.The metal part are in good condition. Blade length 47.8 cm Total length 60 cm
