In an excellent condition a French m1831 short sword The ââmodel 1831ââ sword is a French infantry ââswordââ. It was adopted in 1831 to replace the old ââlighter swordââ, and quickly gained its name of 'cabbage cutter' (Coupe-Choux) A full brass grip with 26 ribs and on the quillon 5 circles on either side The sword has a two-sided cutting blade and is in perfect condition. numbered on the quillon 5248. On the ricasso marked two crossing swords with the letter P.
