Original period photography. A large format sepia image measuring 9.25 x 7 inches, depicting a group of 20 Saxon enlisted men armed with 1871 Mauser rifles. Their knapsacks and other items of equipment can be seen arrayed at their feet, the seated NCO at center is a Franco-Prussian War veteran and wears the Iron Cross 2nd Class on his medal bar. Circa 1875. Excellent detail.
