Description

Locally found M1860 French Shako only 5km from where I lived. The man (71 years old) was cleaning his attic found this and a spike helmet and called me. These were brought back by his parents from Paris in 1960 and were stored on the attic ever since. Very nice M1860 French Shako so called boîte à cirage (shoe polish box) because of its shape. It belong to the French National Garde, infantry regiment 63 and is complete with the pommel on top. There are left overs from factory manufacturer tags inside as well. Beautiful and well preserved Shako.
