In a very good condition a rare Silver Merit Medal for Civil Merit (1st Form) with ribbon This medal was donated on September 26, 1878 by Prince Georg Victor from Waldeck and Pyrmont for special merits of civilians and soldiers of the lower ranks. The award for military personnel differs from the award for civilians by the ribbon. The civil tape is orange-yellow with red and black side stripes. For military merit white with yellow, red and black side stripes. The prices are similar for both versions. Only a total of 1218 Silver Medals of Merit have ever been awarded. Silver medal with a rim. Above is an ordinary eyelet soldered on with a ribbon ring. Front: In the smooth field under the prince's crown the initials of the founder in Gothic script - G - V -. Back: In the smooth field the 2-line writing: - FOR - / - MERIT -.
