French WWI Army Officers Horizon Blue Artillery Cape/Overcoat

Original era manufacture. This is an interesting garment, made of a heavy, gray-blue wool with a design being a sleeved cape. Paris France tailor's tag in the collar, hidden button front, with two slash hip openings which allow access to the interior, French turn-back cuffs with cuff rank for a 1st Lieutenant. Wide collar with post-manufacture added insignia. The coat is cut wide, not gathered at the waist, allowing the garment to be worn over the top of field equipment perhaps. The front securing buttons are original French Infantry bursting bomb pattern, however I feel these to be post production replacements, as the buttons on the hips are plain celluloid. No real moth issues, Hollywood property stamps on the lining material. Size about a 40 regular.
