Luftwaffe Single Decal M40 Combat Helmet

Luftwaffe M40 Single Decal Combat Helmet (Stahlhelm M40). The steel construction M40 helmet retains most of its rough textured,blue-gray paint and about 98% of the decal. All three liner retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet is a M31 leather liner with all eight fingers intact, the leather is still supple, the liner is a size '55'. The liner ring is nicely maker marked by the company 'B&C' from Litzmannstadt and dated 1942. The liner is complete with its original liner cord. The shell is marked with maker and size 'Q64'. 'Q' is indicating production by the 'F.W. Quist, G.m.b.H.' in Esslingen. The reverse interior neck guard apron has a stamped lot-number 'DN228'. The helmet is complete with its original leather chinstrap, the chinstrap is nicely maker marked by the company 'G.Singer' from Klattau and dated 1941. The helmet shows only minimal traces of usage and some minor surface rust sports caused by years of storage, the helmet is in untouched original, near mint, condition.
