Description

A beautiful Beaumont Adams Revolver manufactured by London Armoury Company. This is an outstanding Beaumont Adams 120 Bore Five Shot Double Action Percussion Revolver by the London Armoury Company, the octagonal 4' blued steel sighted barrel stamped L.A.C. and with London proof marks, with Kerr side rammer, the top of the frame engraved Thos Jackson, 29 Edwards Street, Portman Square, London, the right side engraved B.L 18506, ADAM'S PATENT No.34355R with slide safety latch, the cylinder stamped 33,204 R, with chequered walnut grip, in the original oak case lined in green baize, the inner lid with paper label for the retailer Thomas Jackson & Son.The batch number of this revolver was 1945 as evidenced by the markings behind the rammer. The revolver cocks and locks on full and half cock in both double and single action and has virtually all of the original finish extant. The case contains a brass bullet mould for conical bullets, a tin of Eley lubricant with most remaining, Japan lacquered tin of contemporary cast bullets, oil bottle, turnscrew and jag, and excellent Dixon powder flask. The lid has a round brass roundel with a distinctive coat of arms engraved with a talbot head above a crown so probably eminently researchable to give this fine case provenance. This is a beautiful example of an Adams manufactured by LAC circa 1860 that would be difficult to better.
