A scarce circa 1953 -1964 'Royal Marines Forces Volunteer Reserve' gilt and enamel lapel badge bearing a Queen Elizabeth II Crown, the reverse with maker's details 'J.R.Gaunt, London.' Very good condition, retaining original buttonhole fitting, no damage to the enamel. Height 31mm. The Royal Marines Forces Volunteer Reserve were officially formed on the 5 November 1948, the Reservists were mostly Royal Marines who had gained experience in World War II, they were trained in order to support the Corps during the Cold War period.
