British Pattern 1856-60 Sword Bayonet & Scabbard

Original era manufacture.Bright steel blade measuring 23 inches in length. Unmarked, likely made for export during the American Civil War. The blade is bright, unsharpened, with evidence of cleaned corrosion and pitting along its length. Bright steel guard and pommel, with pressed leather grips, secured with three steel rivets. Steel mounted, black leather bodied scabbard with sound stitching, showing areas of cleaned corrosion on the chape. The scabbard is a tad short for the blade, likely from shrinkage over the last 150 plus years.
