TSS Arandora Star shipping line ships wheel badge sunk 1940

A scarce original circa 1930's period 'T.S.S. Arandora Star Shipping Line gilt and enamel pin badge', the Blue Star Line company enamelled flag mounted to the centre of a ship's wheel. Good condition, complete with original pin fittings, enamel wheel intact but with minor bruising and enamel loss to tips of pennant. Price reflects. Diameter approx 28mm. 'T.S.S. Arandora' built 1927 was in service for 'Blue Star Line'. Renamed 'T.S.S. Arandora Star' in 1929. In the Second World War, 1940 she was torpedoed and sunk in the Atlantic with the loss of many lives.
